Coffee House Ep 10

If there’s one thing that this episode has reinforced in me today, it is that men and women are really different when it comes to both psychological and emotional make up…

We tend to get more affected when it comes to relationships, we get involved more and most of all, we have a seemingly endless well of forgiveness for the persons close to us that no matter how much they hurt us, we always tend to believe the best of them if we just see even a glimpse of something that would reinstate our belief in them…

I was silently cheering Eun Young on in this episode… i really feel that JinSoo should have a taste of his own medicine and really be left by himself so that he’d come to realize the value of the people who care for him… Eun Young might still be hopeful in terms of the tactic that she employed but i also applaud her bravado and bravery for keeping her ground and standing by her decision…

I was expecting the worst about JinSoo reading through some of the comments left by my fellow CH addicts but personally, i think he was not that bad in this episode…

I somehow can relate to the things that he do because if a person is really afraid of showing his weak side to someone, he will pull all tricks from his sleeve to build a facade of nonchalance even if he has to hurt someone and yes, appear as an @ss especially if ones personality is just like him…

I feel that the rudeness JinSoo exhibits would produce dramatic results and there would be choices that he made in these last episodes that would give him pause later on and make him realize things which would prod him to change and go on the road towards embracing life again…

At present, he is existing seemingly believing that his life is normal and yet he has built too many walls around himself that is really stopping him from enjoying life to the fullest… He draws boundaries that can’t be crossed… Lines that can’t be stepped on and should someone dare go beyond those barriers… He clams up and shuts down causing endless frustration to the people that cares for him…

I somehow feel that like Hyeri they have to show this side of JinSoo’s personality for us to better appreciate the changes in character that he’d go through in the future (I don’t think there’s any sense after all in presenting a drama without viewers learning anything from it…) However, the only thing that might complicate things further is that by the time he’s ready to let people in his life again, those persons might have moved on already and gotten over him…

I think the care and affection that Seung Yeon shows for JinSoo is commendable but i can also understand his reasons for getting annoyed with her as some of the things she did were really a little bit over the top… I think firing her is a lesson that he’d also want to employ so as she’d learn how to respect his private life but i am hoping against hope that he takes his words back and employ her again… Heaven knows, he needs an ally like Seung Yeon by his side…

As for the loveline between Eun Young and him… Personally, i see it getting clearer in this episode… this does not mean necessarily though that the ending of the series might be them together but i also believe it will not be Seung Yeon either should that not happen…

After all, there is no definitive closeness drawn between JinSoo’s character yet and Seung Yeon still that she even have to learn about major things that are happening in his life only through Eun Young’s secretary…

Again, the termination of the contract seemed to be a wake up call to him about how important Eun Young is to him but he’s not at that stage yet where he’s fully confident to let her into his life… That part where he trails after her seemed to be a symbolism of that… As if he can’t accept that premise and yet he doesn’t know what to do about it so he follows her around like a lost puppy… He still has fears and insecurities that he has to get over after all, before he can be ready to commit to a loving relationship like what Eun Young is expecting…

The way that he also told Seung Yeon about how she spilled a secret that was never hers to tell was also a dead giveaway for me that he does feel something else for Eun Young but he doesn’t want her to know… Once again, like a deer caught in headlights, the moment someone gets close enough to read what’s really in his heart, JinSoo strikes back with hurtful words and faked joy and voila… problem solved, intruder backs off…

As for now, i have my hunches about the twists that are coming up in Page 12 and i am just keeping my fingers crossed that i’m not mistaken… I am dying without the previews and all i can say is that i wish it was Monday again…
