Coffee House Ep 11

I have to remind myself to really stop visiting Coffee House‘s thread on soompi while watching this series…

The posters are all so invested on the EunSoo ship just like me that the moment i read something negative about this OTP, i also start getting all jumpy myself…

And once again this episode did not really disappoint me but rather gave me great hopes for the EunSoo ship… No matter what happens at least JinSoo has already gotten up the courage to just let go and face the truth and even if in the end his ship with EunYoung won’t sail, well, at least EunYoung can look back on their relationship and say that she had not loved in vain…

It took years for JinSoo to finally have the courage to go after what he wants and even if i’m happy with the direction he’s taken, i’m still not totally sold on the idea of him not jumping into a relationship with her because he fears he can’t get over his ex wife…

(Try it first dude before saying anything…)
I just wanna slap this guy silly and tell him the exact same thing that Henry told Hee Jin in My Name is Kim Sam Soon:

“JinSoo notice how everyone has already moved forward and yet you remain stuck in time? Like a frozen clock? Tell me… what do you take? Energizer? Lithium? Cadmium?

Someone please bring this guy to his senses…

But kidding aside, i sort of understand the position he’s in… like i mentioned in my previous post during the last episode, JinSoo is a person who shields himself from pain by cutting his ties off from everyone who gets near him and in that way he feels in control of his emotions…

It may be a lonely existence since he also does not feel most of the joys of relating with someone and having them get close but at least the probability of him getting hurt by the people he takes the time to invest his emotions on is also close to nil…

I guess he is just the type of person who finds it hard to move on and hence a TIMEOUT is really necessary between him and EunYoung coz if they just jump into a relationship right away, it would also not be true of his character…

I think he is the type who completely needs to put something to rest before he can totally start fresh (Which is also one of the reasons why i think a relationship with Seung Yeon beyond friendship is also not plausible but that’s an altogether different story…)

If there is any doubt in my head in the past episodes whether he has looked at Seung Yeon more than as a secretary or a potential friend, this episode put that to rest because despite the knowledge that he gained of how dedicated Seung Yeon is to him, it propelled him not to move towards her direction in a romantic way but rather to make him realize how he can’t keep his feelings for Eun Young bottled up forever… It was as if Seung Yeon was the catalyst for him to finally realize what i think he has already known by himself all along…

Although he was not jealous as i expected when Eun Young met with her blind date, i can still see the concern and care he has towards the choice she’d make in terms of the man she’d have relationships with… (I wonder if that was how he felt in the past towards JinWon too that’s why he carries a certain animosity towards him?)

That short conversation that JinSoo and EunYoung had in the restaurant made me realize the extent of JinSoo’s feelings for her in the past that he even  foisted JinWon off to her without much thought just to keep her in the “friends zone” which to me characterizes the panic he must have felt over feeling something for her despite the fact that he’s attached…to her best friend of all people…

I also feel as if the names he called JinWon were characteristics that he attributed to his self with regards to the way he’s been treating Eun Young… (Selfish, cold hearted, scaredy cat)… I think those are also the very reasons why he hates seeing JinWon… He probably reminds him of how he had used his sunbae towards EunYoung in order to have an easy way out and to be in control of his feelings for her during that time…

(on a side note: Where in hell do they get these competition for JinSoo from? No wonder the guy is complacent! He obviously has the upper hand from those two dorks who were put in to make him waver…Although i must say JinWon made me laugh not one time too many with his childish antics in this episode… I’m just glad i am a viewer and not Eun Young because honestly i would have smacked all three of them but him most of all… They were like a bunch of idiots from nursery duking it out on the sandbox during that fight scene…)

And how hot was that kiss?

Man… i’m sure if they were not in a train station and there was a bed somewhere, somebody would be getting it on! WOOHOO! That totally goes up to my list of most awesome drama kisses!

And that’s how it is done kdrama! Two people in love kiss that way with all the heaving and panting and aggresive lip smushing (along with the accidental brush at the side of the breast, might i say…)

Not those pathetic lip presses which makes the leads seem like cold fishes where the camera just goes around in circles to make it appear as if they’re kissing when in truth it only makes us super dizzy when watching!

Overall, instead of getting me scared for EunSoo’s future Page 11 made me hopeful for the following reasons:

1. When Seung Yeon told JinSoo that the situation can not change but the heart can when she was apologizing made me immediately think of how Eun Young and her can not change the past but even if that is the case and JinSoo feels that he can’t be with her right now because of what they’ve gone through… he can work it out and he will get over his wifes death in the near future…

2. When he told Eun Young on the phone that he needs time away because he believes that the only way he can get over his wifes memory was to do that and how he can probably get over it if he does it…It amazed me that at least he’s finding a way and trying his best to move forward so that Eun Young and him can at least have a chance in the future…

3. THAT KISS! no one kisses like that and forgets someone that easily…it was filled with all the pent up longing, frustration, sadness and passion that they’ve kept bottled up for 10 years and yet it is also filled with tenderness… it would not make sense if he gets over EunYoung in just two years time when he has loved her for a very long time and then when he finally confesses that’s when he moved on… That’s a load of bull…(If that happens, then the PD and writer of this series goes to my persona non grata list along with the BOF PD and writer because it’s just plain stup!d…

4. And lastly, if it took JinSoo 10 years to forget his dead wife when he was already half in love with EunYoung even when they were together would it make sense that he falls out of love with her that easily?

I can tell that Episode 12 would be a bit crazy but i just hope that with the four episodes left of this series, we will see the OTP work throughout all their issues and that JinSoo can finally move forward so that they can get their well deserved happy ending!

(Heaven knows Eun Young deserves it… she might be feisty but her heart is as vast as the ocean… If it were me and the guy i was pining after was JinSoo, i would have moved on or would have ended up strangling him a long time ago…)
