Coffee House Ep 12

Man… the EunSoo virus has really bitten me bigtime and it is all thanks to this episode…

How can i spazz so much over a simple phone conversation?

I must have been smiling like a silly fool the entire time i was watching that scene…

I love the way JinSoo smiles at the other end of the line when he’s talking to EunYoung… His whole aura changes… like that of a highschool kid in the throes of his first love…

I also love the way they share the minutest details about each others lives despite the distance… they know each other so well like clockwork and really, it makes me hopeful for a future where all this angst would be over and they can just go back to the lightheartedness of enjoying each other with every single day they spend together although it breaks my heart how they’re torturing themselves by purposefully staying apart …

Jinwon should have learnt his lesson by now although he has made me laugh at the sheer cheesiness of his actions and how although he might have gone to great lengths to prepare it, EunYoung and JinSoo are so into his game…

(Although i still love the fact that JinSoo was shown looking out the window pensively as he contemplated JinWon’s next move and perhaps wondered if EunYoung would be swayed by it?)

In the Seung Yeon front, i thought JinSoo was a little harsh with his words about not seeing her as a woman but i think it’s also beneficial for Seung Yeon that he didn’t lead her on and as early as now he has let her know where she stands with him… I admire how mutually beneficial to each other they are in terms of how Seung Yeon is making JinSoo grow emotionally and how he’s letting her grow professionally through their relationship… I did pity her when JinSoo left without saying goodbye but my heart absolutely went out to Dong Wook for being so excited about their date and then getting stood up for another man..

That scene before JinSoo left where he went to the publishing house to get a last glimpse of EunYoung sent tears to my eyes because of the poignancy…

He must be so in love with her that he can’t stand the thought of leaving without seeing her and somehow the romantic in me can’t help but think that he got his strength throughout all those years spent apart with EunYoung by remembering her face at that very last moment…

I also love the symbolism of how he has always kept his distance from her and how he’s always telling her to stay where she is, when he’s showing his true emotions… (Like that time when he sprinted to see her and again this time)… It’s as if it depicts the relationship they had which is always so near, yet so far and how he also can’t come out with the truth if she gets near him… i can’t help but think that the writer would also play up on this metaphor at some point in the story…

I also love how during that last phone conversation, EunYoung was seen with the phone still to her ear even if JinSoo had put down his end ages ago… it was as if it was depicting how with that last thread of connection she can still delay the time when she has to let JinSoo go…

I really love writing that speaks volumes not in terms of words but in terms of the overall picture and i’m glad the writer of this series is that kind of writer…

Again, with the parting words that EunYoung said
i felt as if the situation was reversed and she is now the one lying about her feelings for the sake of letting JinSoo find himself and his happiness… (Gosh! If this is not love i don’t know what is!)

Finally, i love seeing how they have all changed during that time jump… Seung Yeon is now a
pro as JinSoo had trained her to be but what happened to JinSoo? I think he looked hotter than when he was a dork rather than right now where he looked as if he was styled by a team of gay beauticians… I wish they would have retained his look when he has the beard and the mustache…
PSY just looked plain tired at the end of that episode but i think it’s all due to PYH’s death… Monday seems so far away…
