My Girlfriend is a Gumiho Ep 4

So, how do they do it?

This drama just keeps on churning up better and better episodes the more it progresses… Once again, the hour i spent watching this episode was chock full of goodies that every distinct scene just seem to embed itself in my mind and in my heart…

The musical scoring is just superb… This brought back memories of Tamna The Island where whenever the main theme of the show plays, i get excited for new adventures that Beo Jin will get into but in here, whenever Fox Rain is played, it makes my heart flutter and butterflies dance in my stomach… It brings such an air of magic and romance into an otherwise passe’ scene and the acting of Lee Seunggi and Shin Mina should also be commended for drawing the viewers in…

The first part after Dae Woong came back for Miho at the beginning of the episode and covered her with that coat was reminiscent of ShinWoo and Mi Nam in You’re Beautiful…

However, it was the way that Miho seemed to hug Dae Woong oh so contentedly like she’d rather not be anywhere else than in his arms plus the dawning of confusion on Dae Woong’s face about the feelings that he’s starting to grow for her that has brought it to a whole new different level…

It’s weird how i didn’t really cry at the ending of episode 3 and yet my tears fell in this scene…

I just find MiHo’s desire to stay by Dae Woong’s side so poignant and how sad it is that even now, she can’t seem to grasp how she is starting to fall in love with a human… (I am now imagining the conflicts it will bring on later in the story, but i love angst so bring it on!)

I like how Dae Woong’s character is soooo normal… He’s flawed but yet you can sense the goodness of his heart despite his seemingly irresponsible attitude… How many of us can not relate to that? I’m sure we’ve been the same at one point or another…

However, typical of some Kdrama heroes from time immemorial, he possesses a characteristic which i absolutely, definitely hate and that is the fact that they are blind to the true nature of the “bait-baitan” female second lead even if they are the incarnate of Cinderella’s evil stepmother!

Shin Mina is sheer perfection! This role was really tailor made for her! I really love the scene when Dae Woong was teaching her how to groom herself.. She looked like a little kid who just discovered Christmas that i am starting to grow a girl crush on her…

Sung Dong Il (Director Ban) is a side character that i am starting to grow really, really fond of! He has made a mark on me with his comical genius eversince Get Karl Oh Soo Jung and i’m glad he had reprised a role with such comic flair in the same way that he had displayed it then in his role of a lovesick fool for Soo Jung’s best friend…

The cameo of Lee Sugeun was very much welcome for this episode and i love their comical showdown at the police station especially the staredown…

The air of mystery sorrounding Dong Joo grows deeper… I really wanna get down to the basics of what his intentions towards Mi Ho really are… Funny how, everytime No Minwoo’s face is flashed in certain scenes, all viewer comments seem to only be limited to the following words: gorgeous, hunk, hot… hahaha!

Can’t say i blame them because the guy is really pure, sheer perfection…

(By the way, don’t you get flashes of one of the Hongs famous works too whenever Dong Joo is onscreen? I swear the musical score that they use as if to signify how he’s an obstacle to Dae Woong and Miho is similar to the same tune that was played to signify Park Shiyeon’s evil intentions for Lee Dong Wook and Lee Da Hae’s characters for My Girl…)
