Prosecutor Princess Ep 15 and Final

So that’s it… It’s over… I have just watched the last 2 episodes of Prosecutor Princess and it’s not even five minutes and i’m already having withdrawal symptoms…

Ottoke? My Thursdays and Fridays will never be quite the same without the excitement i feel going through viikii just to watch it’s Wednesday-Thursday episodes subbed…

Who would have thought that the drama which i had the least interest for among its contemporaries when they all started (Personal Taste and Cinderellas Sister being the other two) would turn out to be the runaway winner in my heart in terms of how much i have grown to really love its story?

I guess it’s the heartwarming plot altogether that really got to me…

That and the twists and turns that the writer always throw at its audiences unexpectedly…

Every episode seem to end in a cliffhanger that just make you long to watch more…This drama has it all and in a perfect blend might i say that would have you laughing one minute, curious the next and crying your eyes out in between…

It really deserves more love…

Aside from that, I have never seen another heroine who had grown through such character development the way that Hye Ri did…

From being a spoilt, pampered princess… She finally learned to be responsible, to take control of her actions and to care for what’s right not because it’s her job to do so but because it’s what she wants to do…

At the end of the drama, it was like watching a childhood friend grow up right before my very eyes and i really honestly felt so proud of her that if she were real i would have probably called her up to say “Congratulations, Ma Hyeri… You’ve come a long way…”

Episodes 15 and 16 had me bawling my eyes out not because of the angst but because of how overwhelming the love of her parents are for HyeRi and along with that her undying trust and belief in them as well…

I have temporarily forgotten the love story between the OTP as Ma Sang Tae and Ma Ae Ja really shone in these past two episodes and once again, i am reminded of the fact that there’s no love that is as great as that of a parents love for ones child… To undergo such an extreme sacrifice to the point of giving up ones self for the sake of your child is truly an amazing sight to see…

That scene by the elevator when Hye Ri’s father broke down in front of Inwoo and when he asked Hye Ri to pretend not to know him really had me sobbing… and how awesome is Hye Ri’s mom? From start to finish i really, really love her… When she gave her the Grace Kelly shoes and that’s all that was left of the luxurious life they had back then…i cried once again…

It was a great use of metaphor to say that she can give up anything but not her daughters happiness…

As previously noted by kaedejun and aberdeen angus on dramabeans site, the show had been using shoes in describing situations that are happening to Hye Ri and In Woo’s relationship and the final episode was no exception…

When she was shown for the first time in that dream sequence and afterwards, barefooted as she looked at a departing Inwoo… i was once again awestruck by the poetry of that scene and the genius of the writer…

It was really a great way to show that Hye Ri, relieved of the trappings of her shoes is just a girl, showing her true self to the person she loves as she stood behind him barefoot not wanting him to leave and that without him it’s as good as if losing her true self which the shoes were to her for the longest time…

The ending was sooo feel good… despite the trials and hardship and even if they lost all their riches, it was good to see Hye Ri’s mom and dad getting along and doing well…

And can i just say that i love how cute Prosecutor Yoon and Prosecutor Jin’s lovestory is? They really bring out the cute side in each other…

They really did save the best for last… I was crying nonstop from episode 11 onwards not because the show is full of angst but because of how beautifully poignant the scenes are… every piece of prop ever used in this series, really served an overall hidden purpose that would surprise the viewers…

The clock, the coupons, the muffins, the house, the buckets… AHHHH… i bow down really to the storyteller that the writer of this series is…

I love how everything has come full circle… I didn’t expect that Inwoo would be living in the house that Hye Ri rented and not change a thing…  I also found the muffins that Ma Sang Tae gave to be symbolical of how truly sorry he is for the wrongdoing that he’s done to Inwoo’s father in the past and his acceptance of his relationship with Hyeri…

Somehow, the writer was able to make the impossible possible with this twist because all along i was thinking how Hyeri and Inwoo could still be together after everything that they have gone through…

The ending was sooooo lighthearted and cute and i’m glad it made me laugh after making me cry… hahaha!

I’d truly miss Prosecutor Princess… a story that made its mark in my heart despite the fact that i barely liked or knew anyone from the cast…

(one thing’s for sure though… Park Shi Hoo really struck gold with the Seo In Woo role… i think his popularity just grew by leaps and bounds just by accepting this project…)

I guess this is really proof that with a brilliant scriptwriter and good directing plus good actors, you can really make indelible memories in a viewers heart…
