Flames of Desire Eps 5-6

Uh-oh…

Anybody got a light?

It seems like someone has really fallen over the dark edge…

A certain woman with the initials NY?

And following right in her footsteps is none other than Rosemary’s Baby… the spawn of the she-devil… Baek In Ki…

Seriously, how much more makjang can this drama be?

We have babies that were lost and switched at birth,  a woman who faced adversities and who climbed her way to the top no matter what it took, gangsters turned good turned convicts again for love, rape, violence, beeyatches all around and now even honest to goodness murder…

WHEW! And to think we’re only on episode 6…

I’ve always loved Seo Woo with a passion eversince Tamna The Island and always thought that she got the short end of the stick for her role in Cinderellas Sister where she gained such hatred from fans just because she was the foil to Moon Geun Young’s character despite the fact that she’s not really playing a villain role in the series…

Therefore, I have anticipated her comeback on FOD with bated breath…

Yesiree… I was convinced that this will be the series that will make people love her… The drama that will make people finally see what she’s all about… The program which will be the introduction that Seo Woo virgins would have to her cute, bubbly, lively persona and which in turn would immediately switch them into converts…

Well, i guess i thought wrong…

That line of thought was doused big time with her first appearance in FOD this week as i literally sat with my mouth wide open the moment that she appeared on screen…

I must have  gasped in shock more than ten times as her character spouted off one vicious remark after another and as she displayed outrageous behavior worthy of Glenn Close in Fatal Attraction succeedingly in the span of mere minutes…

HELLO?

I think somebody just lost a screw and is now walking around a little loose in the head!

Watching the facial expressions on In Ki’s face, i was literally cowering in fear that she’d see me through the computer screen and then go in a murderous rampage killing me in the process…

SHE REALLY LOOKED THAT CRAZY TO ME… CHEONGMAL!

What the hell happened?

Where was the sweet, innocent girl that i fell in love with?

(Honestly speaking, there was a moment though, when i was literally LOL when she flipped a finger at the reporters…

I was thinking to myself that it was such  a brazen move and a revolution for normally conservative Korean dramas to show that…but really, with this character? why not just put a dartboard at Seo Woo’s back to make antis attack her even more than what they’re doing now?

This character truly grates on my nerves like nails scratching a chalkboard and yet i can’t look away because i am probably waiting for the moment when i’d change my mind and decide to love her… )

Kudos however to Seo Woo for personifying Bitcherella in the truest sense of the word and for giving her all in making this character hateful and yet oh so vulnerable…

She is really one brave actress for tackling roles such as these and i admire her all the more for continually challenging herself when she can bag any sweet role that she’d want in any drama, given her credentials…

But back to FOD, Na Young suddenly paled in comparison at that moment as i watch In Ki and i was thinking how screwed she would be when they cross paths and she realizes that she messed with the wrong person…

I guess the drama is driving home the point that the apple does not really fall far from the tree and that Na Young has found her match in her own daughter no less, but seriously now?

Was it Lucifer that raped Na Young that’s why her daughter turned out the way she did?  How can she grow up hating the world when she had such a loving foster mother in the person of Jung Sook?

It pains my mind to even think about it…

But on a positive note, the chemistry between Yoo Seung Ho and Seo Woo was off the charts! They were only together for a mere moment and yet the scene that they shared together was a highlight for this episode that truly left a mark…

I really love the seductive smile that she threw at him while whispering how cute he was oh so confidently before leaving her lip print on his neck tie,  leaving Min Jae dumbfounded and having an orgasmic moment right at that very instant…

To say that i am excited to see more of them together in upcoming episodes is an understatement…

Speaking of Yoo Seung Ho, when did this boy get this hot?

I think my cougarly instincts were once again awakened while staring at him and though i am in danger of facing a lifesentence by crushing on him this much, i am taking that risk as i elevate his status in my list from boy to boylet material…

Now that the gloves are off and the power struggle seem to be in full swing in the Kims Household, my interest is truly piqued as this show keeps me stoked for events that will unfold in the future and that,  despite the fact that the characters of this show will fill a ward in the Mental Hospital for all their emotional issues and baggage that i’m sure Dr. Phil will have a field day analyzing all of them if he ever is (un) lucky enough to have the chance to meet them…
